Even if your heart is destroyed, your soul can still shine. Help others whenever you can. Peace & goodwill to all. Till the next time, adieu♞ One People One World❤ Unfinished Glory Unedited Hope It is currently -4 °C outside and I have just returned from spending time with the local homeless.
As I gave blankets, pillows, gloves and socks to one man under a public bridge and the wind blew strongly, I couldn't help but think is the bridge secure? The injustice of unoccupied offices and luxury apartments which are located nearby and could offer shelter leave a bitter taste in the mouth. There are usually 2 men under this particular bridge but today there is only one and I can only hope that the other man has found shelter and food somewhere warm. The homeless man is already half asleep but thanks me for the blankets and other things as he hunkers down against the cold. Draping some blankets over him I notice some bloody phlegm on the ground nearby. I wish him good night and good luck and will seek the local authorities tomorrow to see if there is a homeless shelter with medical care in the area. Also of concern is the chance of snow in the early morning. Time magazine's person of the year is 'The Protester' but my people of the year are 'The Oppressed'. The homeless around the world who face dire conditions, those trying to escape human trafficking, violence and war as well as those fighting for freedom and equality deserve our solidarity for their bravery. Wherever you are, I wish you all goodwill and peace. What do you do when you loose hope?
Look to the beauty of the world and find some. Today, I helped a homeless person. Some clothes, money, good wishes and a hot drink were what I offered. It is not enough but it is a start. A broken man I am but I now pledge my time, resources and being to helping others. Bettering myself will be a constant and for those that I have let down in the past, my apologies. May all people know goodwill and peace. One People One World ❤ . |
